Navarra is a small (population of 600.000) and wealthy region, 38th European region taking into consideration its average GDP per capita, lagging on its innovation performance (76th most innovative EU region), although it still remains the second most innovative region of Spain (1,92% RTDI Expenditure/GDP in 2008).
